Position: Teachers Assistant – Saturday Friends Field
Cerritos Presbyterian Church
September 2008 – June 2009
Assisted children with autism in a weekend daycare to encourage social interactions with volunteers and other children with autism. Worked with a partner focusing primarily on one child with a more severe case of autism, while helping other children whenever possible. Duties included encouraging eye contact and conversation, guiding the children through assigned activities (arts and crafts, baking snacks, singing, dancing, playing music, etc.) as well as free play.
